Sheldon Geller, CFA
Sheldon began his career in 1973 in Europe when he worked as global stock analyst for Robeco, one of the world’s most prestigious fund managers. He returned to Canada later and was analyst and portfolio manager with the TD Bank and Ontario Hospitals Association. In 1989, Sheldon moved to Edmonton to join Managed Investments and co-founded GWP in 1996. He is responsible for Canadian stock investments.
Sheldon has served on the board of the Jewish Federation of Edmonton and was a mentor for the University of Alberta’s PRIME program which gives students experience managing a real portfolio.
Virginia Wong, CMA, CFP
Virginia has been in the investment business since began her career at Managed Investments in 1982. She has years of experience in the area of portfolio administration and client liaison, and is very effective in dealing with a broad spectrum of investment issues. Virginia’s professional training has provided her with an in-depth knowledge of accounting, taxation and financial planning.
Virginia is a former executive of the Edmonton Chapter of the Society of Management Accountants of Alberta, PEER Advisor for the CMA Alberta Strategic Leadership Program, and also served a few years on the United Way of the Capital Region Campaign Cabinet.
Douglas Penner, CFA
Doug has been working in the investment management field since 1981. He began his career at The Great-West Life Assurance Company as an analyst of stocks, bonds, mortgages and real estate and in 1985 was promoted to portfolio manager. Doug moved to Edmonton to join Managed Investments in 1989 as Vice President, Fixed Income. His focus is on bonds and foreign stocks.
Doug is a past President of both the Winnipeg and Edmonton CFA Society, a former executive member of the Edmonton Chapter of the Canadian Pension and Benefits Institute, a past Chair of CKUA Radio Foundation and served on the United Way of the Capital Region Campaign Cabinet.
